Museu cubista do mar : Olhão

Abstract

Esta dissertação de mestrado aborda o projeto para a reabilitação do antigo matadouro de Olhão e toda a sua envolvente, incluindo a criação de um edifício cubista com uma torre de observação, cujo conceito é o das açoteias e mirantes da zona histórica da cidade, fazem parte também um espelho de água que envolve parte dos edifícios, em memória do antigo sapal que originalmente lá existiu e por fim espaços arborizados com sombreamento, percursos pedonais e parque de estacionamento que servirá de apoio a toda a estrutura do Museu do Mar. O estudo refere a caracterização histórica e evolutiva da cidade com sua ligação ao mar, contextualizando na história da cidade e na fenomenologia do Lugar. Consideraram-se os momentos de desenvolvimento e declínio da urbe, no paradigma da relação “mar/cidade”. A zona Ribeirinha, toda a zona histórica e o hotel de cinco estrelas, Marina Hotel, são partes integrantes que beneficiam a intervenção. O suporte da formalização da proposta foi induzido pela beleza das formas geométricas presentes nos elementos arquitetónicos dos edifícios cubistas que caracterizam a arquitetura Olhanense. A ideia fundadora passa pelo modus operandi das formas geométricas, centralizadas nos edifícios com suas açoteias, os seus mirantes e contra mirantes, que eram utilizados para secagem de frutos e principalmente como observatório do estado mar. A minha intervenção é considera ainda, a operação de reabilitação incluída na regeneração e requalificação do Património Histórico de Olhão. O projeto propõe melhorar a qualidade do espaço e envolvente, proporcionando à cidade uma mais-valia, do ponto de vista cultural e afirmando a relação da urbe com o mar; direcionada à valorização urbana, arquitetónica e ambiental.

This dissertation discusses the project for the rehabilitation of the old slaughterhouse in Olhão and all its surroundings, including the creation of a cubist building with an observation tower, whose concept is the roof terraces and lookouts of the old town, part also a mirror of water that surrounds part of the buildings, in memory of the former marshland that originally existed there and finally wooded areas with shading, walkways and parking that will support the entire structure of the Sea Museum. The study refers to historical and evolutionary characterization of the city with its connection to the sea, contextualizing the city's history and phenomenology of place. They were considered moments of development and decline of the metropolis, the paradigm of the relationship "sea / city." The riverfront area, the entire historic district and the five-star hotel, Hotel Marina, are integral parts that benefit the intervention. Support the formalization of the proposal was prompted by the beauty of geometric forms present in the architectural elements of cubist buildings featuring the architecture Olhanense. The founding idea is the modus operandi of geometric forms, centralized buildings with their terraces, their lookouts and against gazebos, which were used for drying fruit and especially as an observatory of the sea state. My intervention is still considered, rehabilitation operation included in the regeneration and restoration of Heritage Olhão History. The project proposes to improve the quality of space and engaging, providing the city a capital gain from the cultural point of view and affirming the relationship of the metropolis to the sea; directed to the urban, architectural and environmental value.
