A casa nobre e senhorial no norte de Portugal e na Galiza. Relações, evolução e reabilitação

Abstract

Partilhando não só um espaço geográfico, Galiza e Portugal também partilham séculos de relações comerciais e culturais. Isto também tem a sua correspondência na arquitetura onde o longo dos séculos a ambos lados do rio Minho foi evoluindo a tipologia de casa senhorial, que é a que nos interessa para este estudo. A sua origem partilhada, a analise de exemplos e tipologias, a sua situação atual e a metodologia para a reabilitação a traves do Palacete da Quinta da Conceição são os pontos a desenvolver nesta tese de mestrado. O seu interesse radica no facto de haver muita informação mas não relação. É imensa a bibliografia que achamos a cada lado da fronteira, mas o objetivo desta tese e levantar uma linha que sempre foi mais fraca do que outras fronteiras.

Galicia and Portugal do not only share a geographic space, but also centuries of a common history of commercial and cultural relations. This also happens in architecture. Through the years the typology of the manor house evolved, the one that concerns our study, evolved and changed on the both sides of the Minho river. The points for development on this thesis are: the common origin, the analysis of different examples and typologies, , their actual situation and the methods for a hypothetical renovation through the example of the Palacete da Quinta da Conceição. The interest of this thesis settles on the existence of huge amount of information, but no relation. The bibliography that we could find on each side of the border is really big, but the purpose of this thesis is to lift that border, a border weaker than other frontiers.
