'Autógrafos', 'textos originais' ou 'texto incial : algumas observações sobre a terminologia em crítica textual

Abstract

O objetivo da crítica textual é a restauração de um texto no seu estado pristino. Esta contribuição tem como intuito explorar algumas das dificuldades inerentes aos conceitos de “autógrafos” e “textos originais”. A sua complexidade conduz a descartar a sua utilidade no objetivo da crítica textual, e à adoção do conceito de “texto inicial”.

: The purpose of textual criticism is the restoration of the pristine state of a text. The aim of the present contribution is to explore some of the inherent difficulties of the notions of “autographs” and “original texts”. Their complexity leads to question their usefulness for the goal of textual criticism, and to the adoption of the concept of “initial text”.
